The Impact of Excessive Food Consumption on Children's Health

January 31, 2024

Which child is not a treasure to their family? Nowadays, people's living conditions have improved, and parents try various ways to meet their children's demands, especially when it comes to food. However, is it really good to always give in to their requests? Does it have no impact on their health? Let's see!

The following foods, when eaten in excess, will affect children's health:

1. Oranges

Oranges may seem harmless, but don't eat too many. Parents may have doubts - aren't oranges rich in nutrients? Why can't we eat more?

Oranges contain lutein, and eating too much can easily lead to "lutein skin disease." It can cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, and even bone diseases. Generally, children should not eat more than four oranges a day.

2. Spinach

Why shouldn't children eat too much spinach? Because spinach contains a large amount of oxalic acid, which, when combined with calcium and zinc in the body, forms calcium oxalate and zinc oxalate, which are not easily absorbed and are excreted from the body.

3. Eggs

Eggs can also be a prize, of course. However, eating too many eggs can lead to excessive nutrition, causing obesity and increasing the burden on the intestines, stomach, liver, and kidneys. Therefore, children should not eat too many eggs.

4. Jelly

Jelly is not made from fruits and sugar, but is prepared with thickeners, flavorings, and seasonings. It not only lacks nutrition but also has no benefits when consumed in excess. Therefore, children should not eat too much jelly.

5. Canned Food

When it comes to canned food, not only children, but also adults love to eat it. However, canned food contains a certain amount of food additives during processing, and these additives have trace toxicity. The impact on adults is not significant, but for children in their developmental stage, it has a very large impact on their health.

6. Popcorn

You read it right - the last thing I want to mention is popcorn. Popcorn contains a high level of lead, which can damage the nerves, digestive system, and hematopoietic function when it enters the body.

Children have weak detoxification functions for lead, and eating popcorn frequently can easily lead to lead poisoning. Therefore, it is not advisable to eat too much popcorn.
