Ginger: A Natural Remedy for Male Health and Vitality

February 18, 2024

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that ginger is a yang-enhancing food, and there has been a saying in traditional Chinese medicine that "a man should not go a hundred days without ginger." Modern clinical pharmacology research has found that ginger can accelerate human metabolism, have anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, stimulate the functions of multiple systems in the body, and regulate the function of the male prostate, treating male prostate diseases and sexual dysfunction. Therefore, ginger is often used for male health.

Fresh ginger: Increases appetite, slows aging

Middle-aged and elderly men often experience physical weakness due to stomach cold and loss of appetite. They can regularly consume fresh ginger slices to stimulate gastric acid secretion and promote digestion.

Fresh ginger is not as drying as dried ginger, it is moisturizing and does not harm yin. Every day, cut four or five thin slices of fresh ginger, drink a cup of warm water in the morning, then chew the ginger slowly in the mouth, allowing the aroma of ginger to spread in the oral cavity, diffuse into the stomach and nose.

Dried ginger: Treats kidney deficiency impotence

Take about 500 grams of male carp, 10 grams each of dried ginger and goji berries. Take the white gelatinous substance in the carp's abdomen (the male fish seminal vesicle gland), boil it together with dried ginger and goji berries, add cooking wine, salt, and monosodium glutamate to taste. Take it on an empty stomach, eat once every other day, and continue for 5 days. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that dried ginger warms the middle, dispels cold, invigorates the stomach and activates blood circulation, while goji berries nourish the liver and kidneys, nourish essence, and improve eyesight. This medicated diet can treat impotence, aversion to cold and cold limbs, back pain, soreness and weakness in the waist and knees, and fatigue caused by kidney yang deficiency. However, ginger belongs to the category of warm and pungent food, and can only be used in case of cold conditions, but it should not be used excessively to avoid damaging blood and yin. If there are symptoms such as sore throat, dry throat, and dry stools at the same time, it is not recommended to use ginger to avoid aggravating the symptoms.
