Relieving Fatigue and Enhancing Brain Vitality: The Power of Yintang and Shenting Acupoints

February 22, 2024

Fatigue, also known as tiredness, is a subjective feeling of discomfort. However, objectively, it can result in the loss of the ability to perform normal activities or work under the same conditions as before. Many diseases can cause fatigue as they progress to a certain stage.

When people are mentally exhausted from excessive brain usage, they often involuntarily massage their forehead or lightly tap it with their fist. In fact, this stimulates two important acupoints for health: Yintang and Shenting. Massaging these two acupoints can also significantly alleviate headaches and dizziness.

Massaging the Yintang and Shenting acupoints has a similar effect on relieving headaches and dizziness and restoring brain vitality. If both of these acupoints are massaged simultaneously, they can complement each other and enhance the effect.

Yintang Acupoint

This acupoint is an extraordinary acupoint in the human body. In "Secret Techniques of Bodhidharma," it is also listed as one of the "rejuvenation methods," indicating its importance. The Yintang acupoint is located in the middle of the line connecting the two eyebrows. When massaging, place your middle finger on the Yintang acupoint and apply strong pressure for 10 times. Then, rotate clockwise for 20-30 circles and counterclockwise for 20-30 circles.

Shenting Acupoint

The Shenting acupoint belongs to the Governing Vessel in the human body and stimulating this acupoint has a therapeutic effect on the nervous system. The Shenting acupoint is located above the Yintang acupoint, about half an inch directly above the hairline. The massaging method is the same as the Yintang acupoint.
