  Three Acupoints for Autumn Health

  1. Massage Si Feng to nourish the stomach and promote digestion

After the beginning of autumn, it is a good time to eat meat and gain weight. However, if you are not careful, you may experience indigestion, which can damage the spleen and stomach and lead to weight gain.

Si Feng is an acupoint for dispelling food stagnation and promoting digestion. The acupoint is located at the central point of the transverse lines of the second, third, fourth, and fifth palms. It is best to use the thumb for pressing and rubbing. Generally, pressing 10-20 times will have significant effects.

  2. Massage Ying Xiang to moisten the lungs and prevent dryness

Dryness in autumn can harm the lungs. Massaging the Ying Xiang acupoint can help clear heat, dispel wind, moisturize the lungs, and open the nasal passages.

The Ying Xiang acupoint is located about 0.5 inch from the outer edge of the nostrils, in the groove between the nose and the upper lip. Use the middle fingers or index fingers to rub the acupoint in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions for 20-30 times. The acupoint is considered activated when it feels sore, swollen, or warm.

  3. Massage Ji Quan to regulate Qi and protect the heart

After the beginning of autumn, occasional temperature rises can be as hot as in summer. When the temperature exceeds 30 ℃, people may feel chest tightness.

Ji Quan is the first and most important acupoint of the Heart Meridian of Hand Shaoyin. It is located at the top point of the armpit, where the axillary artery pulsates. This acupoint is effective in treating heart pain, chest tightness, and dryness in the throat. The pressure should be gentle when tapping and the movements should be continuous. The number of taps should vary depending on the individual, but generally around 10 taps.

Above, we have introduced three acupoints for autumn health. These acupoints can help with digestion, heart protection, and lung moisturization. Whenever you have free time, you can massage these acupoints for yourself.
