Symptoms of heavy internal dampness

1. Oily face

When the body is invaded by dampness, the hair and face will react. The body will become prone to sweating, the hair will become greasy, and the face will become oily, affecting the overall beauty of the face.

2. Sticky stools

In healthy individuals, stools are generally formed and have a moderate consistency. If your stools have no shape and are sticky, sticking to the toilet even after flushing, it indicates that you have excessive internal dampness.

People with internal dampness usually have weak spleen and stomach function, often manifested as indigestion and poor appetite.

3. Poor mental state

Take a look at your own mental state. If you are always lacking energy, not focused on work during the day, and never feel rested no matter how much you sleep at night, it may also be a sign of excessive dampness.

In addition, people with excessive dampness often have symptoms such as dull complexion, swollen eyes, and severe dark circles, making them appear to be ten years older.

4. Thick and greasy tongue coating

Acupoint moxibustion for dispelling dampness

1. Zhongwan acupoint

The Zhongwan acupoint is located in the middle line of the abdomen, about four inches above the navel. Moxibustion at this point can effectively relieve various stomach problems, such as diarrhea, loose stools, and gastric ulcers.

2. Guanyuan acupoint

The Guanyuan acupoint is located about three inches below the navel. Moxibustion at this point can effectively regulate qi and blood, and has a good effect on strengthening the kidneys and preserving essence.

3. Zusanli acupoint

Zusanli is one of the main acupoints of the Stomach Meridian of Foot Yangming, and it is also an important acupoint for nourishing yang. It is located three inches below the outer knee, which is about one horizontal finger width on the outer side of the shin bone. Its function is to transform dampness, generate stomach qi.

4. Fenglong acupoint

The Fenglong acupoint is located on the outer side of the front of the lower leg, about eight inches above the shoulder of the outer ankle. This is a particularly good acupoint for dispelling dampness and invigorating the spleen.

5. Jiexi acupoint

Jiexi acupoint is a particularly important acupoint for dispelling phlegm and dampness in the whole body. Moxibustion at this point can effectively solve the problem of lower body edema. It is best to moxibustion daily.


Traditional Chinese medicine remedies for dispelling dampness

1. Chinese herbal sachet

Ingredients: 15g Huoxiang, 15g Aiye, 10g Chenpi, 15g Zisu.

Effect: Invigorates the spleen, transforms dampness, disperses wind, and dispels cold.

Method: Grind the above ingredients into small particles, put them in a sachet, and fasten it to your clothes with a pin. Place it next to your pillow when sleeping or in the car to prevent colds. However, pregnant women and people with allergies should not use it.

2. Chinese herbal bath

Ingredients: 20g Aiye, 20g Mianyinchen.

Effect: Warms the meridians, unblocks the collaterals, clears heat, and dispels dampness.

Method: Boil the above herbs for about 40 minutes, and wait for the herbal solution to cool. After taking a normal bath, repeatedly wipe the body with the herbal solution, and then dry it with a towel. There is no need to rinse the remaining herbal solution on the body with warm water. This dosage is suitable for children over 3 years old.

3. Traditional Chinese medicine diet

White Atractylodes, Chenpi, and Pig Stomach Soup

Ingredients: 10g Chenpi, 30g White Atractylodes, 1/2 to 1 fresh pig stomach, 6g Sandalwood, 5 slices of ginger.

Effect: This soup invigorates the spleen, stimulates the appetite, and promotes digestion. It is especially suitable for those with abdominal distension, poor appetite, and indigestion.

Method: Wash the pig stomach and blanch it in boiling water. Put all the ingredients into a pot, add about 2500ml of water, boil it, and then simmer for about 1.5 hours on low heat. Take out the pig stomach and cut it into pieces, put it back in the pot, and simmer for another 30 minutes. Season with condiments and serve.
