In spring, the liver qi is strong. If we don't pay attention to regulating the liver qi, it can easily lead to liver qi stagnation. In addition to diet and liver protection, it is also necessary to learn how to use traditional Chinese massage to nourish the liver.
1. Taichong acupoint
The Taichong acupoint is located 4 centimeters above the gap between the big toe and the foot. It is considered the most important acupoint in the body.
Some people compare the Taichong acupoint to the exhaust pipe of the human body because it is the original and reflection point of the liver meridian. It is also the fire acupoint of the liver meridian, which can dissipate liver qi and liver fire.
By massaging the Taichong acupoint, we can effectively release the stagnant qi in the body.
2. Xingjian acupoint
The Xingjian acupoint is located between the big toe and the second toe. It is a fire acupoint. The liver belongs to the wood element, and wood generates fire. If your liver fire is too strong, you can drain the heart fire through this acupoint.
In spring, excessive liver fire can cause toothache, swollen cheeks, oral ulcers, nosebleeds, and blisters on the tip of the tongue. Massaging the Xingjian acupoint can help dissipate the heart fire.
3. Dadun acupoint
The Dadun acupoint is the first acupoint of the liver meridian. It is located next to the nail seam on the inside of the big toe.
The Dadun acupoint can be massaged or treated with moxibustion. It has the effect of clearing the liver and brightening the eyes, making your mind clear and refreshing.
4. Zusanli acupoint
The Zusanli acupoint is located 3 inches below the outer knee, 1 horizontal finger width from the anterior crest of the tibia, on the anterior tibial muscle.
To locate the acupoint, measure 4 horizontal finger widths down from the outer knee, between the fibula and the tibia. Then measure 1 horizontal finger width from the side of the tibia, and you will find the acupoint.
The Zusanli acupoint is one of the main acupoints of the Stomach meridian. It has the functions of regulating the spleen and stomach, nourishing the liver and replenishing qi, promoting meridian circulation, dispelling wind and dampness, and strengthening the body.
5. Sanyinjiao acupoint
Sanyinjiao acupoint is located on the inside of the lower leg, 3 inches above the inner ankle, behind the inner edge of the tibia. Sit with the knee bent at a right angle to locate the acupoint.
This acupoint is the intersection of the liver, spleen, and kidney meridians. Regularly massaging this acupoint can have a beneficial effect on the liver, spleen, and kidneys.
6. Taixi acupoint
The Taixi acupoint is located in the depression between the inner ankle and the Achilles tendon of the foot. There are two of them, which are the original acupoints of the kidneys and also the storage warehouse of kidney essence. Massaging the Taixi acupoint can activate the function of the kidneys.
