Many parents worry about their babies not growing tall enough. There is actually a solution to this concern, and that is through the use of massage therapy recommended by traditional Chinese medicine. It's truly magical! Let's learn how massage can help babies grow taller.

Nurturing massage therapy is a great method to help babies grow taller, but many people are unaware of how to perform it. Let's go into detail about it.

First, can traditional Chinese medicine massage really help with height growth?

According to some traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, massage therapy can indeed help babies grow taller. Is it reliable? What is the principle behind massage therapy for height growth?

A pediatric massage department director explained that according to traditional Chinese medicine, the kidneys govern the bones. For children to grow taller, they need healthy bone development, which relies on abundant kidney energy. The essence of bones lies in the bone marrow, while the brain is the ocean of the marrow, where the bone marrow gathers. By nourishing the kidneys, we can nourish the bones and marrow, ultimately nourishing the brain as well.

In other words, the kidneys govern intelligence. The intelligence of a child depends on the abundance of their kidney energy, and massage therapy can also help with this.

Massage therapy in traditional Chinese medicine can indeed help with height growth. This is something that many parents are unaware of, and we hope to promote this method to encourage children to grow taller.

Second, massage techniques that promote height growth

By massaging acupoints and meridians, we can enhance the circulation of meridians and the overall nourishment of the body's qi and blood, promoting metabolism and aiding in bone development. It can achieve twice the result with half the effort. Massage is simple and easy to perform, and children are more receptive to it. Here are a few massage techniques that can help children grow taller. Parents can give them a try!

Abdominal rubbing: Parents can gently rub their child's abdomen every day, clockwise for 1 minute and counterclockwise for 1 minute. This can regulate the spleen and stomach and replenish qi and blood.

Spine kneading: The child lies prone with their back exposed. Apply an appropriate amount of talcum powder and use the middle, ring, and little fingers of both hands to form a half-fist shape, with the index finger half-bent and the thumb straight, aligning it with the front half of the index finger. Then, press against the child's skin and move the thumb and index finger forward, simultaneously twisting and pushing upwards from both sides of the sacrum (the sides of the spine). Perform this kneading motion 3-5 times before the child goes to bed. This is beneficial for regulating the child's digestive system and enhancing their resistance.

Kneading the spine can activate the body's overall growth function. Yongquan acupoint is the wellspring of the kidneys. Massaging this acupoint allows the life spring to flow out and nourish the whole body. Mingmen acupoint hides the true fire that can generate the body's yang energy.

Rubbing the spine: Every day, parents can use the palms of their hands to rub their child's spine from bottom to top 5-7 times. This can invigorate yang energy.

Pressing Baihui acupoint: Every day, parents can press and rub their child's Baihui acupoint (located at the center of the head, directly above the midpoint between the two ears, or starting from the midpoint between the eyebrows and moving upward until the center of the posterior hairline) 20-50 times. This can invigorate yang energy, support the body's righteousness, and clear the mind.

San Guan pushing: Every day, parents can press and rub their child's San Guan (located on the anterior aspect of the forearm near the thumb, using the thumb or the index and middle fingers to push from the wrist crease to the elbow crease) 100-300 times. They can also stimulate the spleen meridian, lung meridian, kidney meridian, liver meridian, and heart meridian 100-200 times each. This can regulate the spleen and stomach.

San Yang and San Yin meridians: The outer side of the arms and legs are the San Yang meridians, while the inner side is the San Yin meridians. "Na" is a technique in massage therapy that involves pinching with the hands. For the San Yang meridians, pinch from top to bottom, and for the San Yin meridians, pinch from bottom to top. Do this 3-5 times each day.
