March 22, 2024

The head and face massage method has the effects of refreshing the mind, calming and promoting sleep, reducing blood pressure and relieving pain, treating dizziness and moisturizing the skin. It is clinically used for headaches, insomnia, and inner ear dizziness.

For head and face massage, simply sit upright and massage the following acupoints:

1. Tianmen opening point method: Place the tips of both thumbs tightly against the Yintang acupoint, and fix the remaining fingers of both hands on the sides of the head. The left thumb first pushes vertically from the Yintang acupoint, passing through the Shenting acupoint to the Shangxing acupoint, and then the thumbs move in a diagonal direction, alternating between left and right, up and down, with the technique gradually increasing in speed and pressure. Repeat the massage for about 1 minute. At this time, the massaged area will feel warm and concentrate towards the center of the forehead.

2. Baihui acupoint pressing and palm rubbing method: Use the tip of the right thumb to press on the Baihui acupoint, and when a localized heavy and numb feeling occurs, immediately switch to rotating rubbing with the thumb pad. Repeat this alternation for about 30 seconds, and then use the palm as the center, evenly press and rotate rub around the Baihui acupoint for about 30 seconds.

3. Jade hammer tapping method: Use the fingertips as hammers, and tap the entire head from back to front, from left to right, repeatedly and sequentially, without missing any areas. When tapping, use force from the wrist, with even swinging force. The force should not be too heavy or too light, but provide a strong vibrating sensation without feeling pain. Approximately 1 minute.

4. Ten finger combing method: Use the fingers as combs, with the fingertips exerting pressure on the scalp. Both hands perform the massage simultaneously, starting from the forehead and moving in a fan-shaped pattern towards the back of the head. The technique should focus on kneading, with a combination of gentleness and firmness. At this time, you will feel a relaxed and comfortable sensation in the head. Approximately 1 minute.

5. Gentle stroking and resting method: Use both palms to gently stroke the head, face, and cheeks. Use light rubbing motions for about 1 minute, and then end the entire massage session.
