Massage should pay attention to the following:
1. Clearly diagnose the disease, select acupoints, determine techniques, have a clear understanding, consider comprehensively, and have a focus.
2. According to different diseases and different massage sites, adopt appropriate body positions. This position should make the patient comfortable, facilitate treatment, and be conducive to various techniques. Whether it is self-massage or massage by others, attention should be paid.
3. The operating procedures, intensity, and time of massage should be adjusted according to the overall and local reactions of the patient during treatment and the changes after treatment. And should grasp the principle of treating "symptoms" in emergency and treating "root cause" in slow progress.
4. Do a good job of explaining to the patients, instruct the patients not to be nervous, relax the muscles, breathe naturally, and wear loose clothing. Before massaging the waist, back, and lower abdomen, emptying the bladder and bowels should be done first. Massage is not suitable for patients who are hungry, full, or intoxicated. Generally, it is more appropriate to massage 2 hours after a meal. Patients should be treated with patience, seriousness, kindness, and responsibility, so that patients can trust and cooperate with the treatment. When self-massaging, attention should also be paid to relaxation and time arrangement.
5. The hands of the operator should be kept clean, warm, and nails should be well-trimmed, so as not to damage the skin of the massaged area. Also pay attention to room temperature and keep the massaged area warm.
6. When examining patients of the opposite sex and performing massage, be serious and solemn. Especially when massaging female patients, avoid breasts and genitals. If it is necessary for treatment, explain it to the patient first, obtain the patient's consent before treatment, and there should be a third person present (patient's family or other female comrades).
7. For health massage (whether it is self-massage or performed by others), perseverance is necessary to achieve the purpose of preventing and treating diseases and strengthening the body.
8. After the massage, the person being massaged should feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the body, and the original symptoms should change. Sometimes there may be varying degrees of fatigue, which is a common reaction. After the massage, pay attention to proper rest, avoid cold stimulation, and do not cause further injury. It is necessary to cooperate with the treatment and maintain the treatment effect.
