Wheatgrass Tea
Introduction to Wheatgrass Tea:
Wheatgrass is sweet, salty, and cool in nature. According to "Compendium of Materia Medica", it can "nourish qi, eliminate heat, stop spontaneous sweating and night sweats." Poria cocos has both red and white varieties. "Annotations on Compendium of Materia Medica" points out that "white Poria cocos tonifies, while red Poria cocos stimulates." This tea is best made with white Poria cocos to calm the mind, nourish the spleen and stomach. It contains β-pachyman and triterpenoid compounds such as acetyl pachymic acid, pachymic acid, and 3β-hydroxy-lanosta-8,24-dien-21-oic acid. Intraperitoneal injection of Poria cocos extract has diuretic effects on normal rabbits. Its ethanol extract can initially increase and then decrease blood sugar levels in rabbits. It has a sedative effect on mice. It has a preventive effect on experimental ulcers in rats. And it has an inhibitory effect on isolated frog hearts. By combining wheatgrass, which tonifies qi and stops sweating, with Poria cocos, which calms the mind, and dwarf lilyturf, which clears the heart, this tea can replenish heart qi, stop excessive sweating, and consolidate deficiency.
