Traditional Chinese Medicine: The Beauty and Benefits of Rose Tea

  As Qixi Festival is approaching, roses are undoubtedly the hottest product right now. They are not only beautiful but also considered the flower of love. However, did you know that these beautiful flowers are also used as traditional Chinese medicine? They are commonly used to make tea and are great for drinking on a regular basis.
 


 

  1. Golden and Silver Rose Tea

  Ingredients: 1 gram of golden silver flower, 3 rose flowers, 2 grams of Ophiopogon japonicus, 2 grams of hawthorn.

  Method: Mix all the ingredients and steep in boiling water for 15 minutes.

  Usage: Drink as a substitute for tea.

  Effects: Relieves depression and stagnation, nourishes Yin and clears heat. Suitable for individuals with liver depression and rising deficiency fire, dull complexion, and dry skin.

  2. Powdered Rose Tea

  Ingredients: 5 powdered rose flowers, 2 pitted red dates.

  Method: Steep in water at 80 degrees Celsius (water temperature that is too high can destroy vitamin C).

  Usage: Drink two cups daily.

  Note: After only one month of use, the complexion becomes fair and translucent. The vitamin C content in roses and red dates is higher than that in lemons. Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin with remarkable effects. Drinking this tea after meals can also help reduce fat, killing two birds with one stone.

  3. Longan and Rose Tea

  Ingredients: 5 grams of longan, 5 grams of goji berries, 2 rose flowers.

  Method: Remove the flesh from the longan, mix with goji berries, steep in boiling water for 10 minutes, and then add rose flowers.

  Usage: Drink as a substitute for tea.
