1. Facial Scraping Techniques
The patient should be seated or lying down.
(1) The scraper should apply a small amount of medium (such as cosmetics) to the patient's forehead and begin scraping. The scraper should use the scraping board to scrape downwards from the hairline on the forehead, and massage the Yintang, Baihui, and Liangtouwei acupoints.
(2) Starting from the Yintang acupoint as the midpoint, the scraper should scrape the forehead towards the left and right sides, stopping at the temples and massaging the temples. The degree of redness of the skin should be considered.
(3) The patient should close their eyes. The scraper should gently scrape the upper and lower eyelids, and lightly massage the Yingming, Sibai, and Yingxiang acupoints on both sides of the patient's eyes using the scraping board.
(4) The scraper should lightly scrape the area around the patient's upper and lower lips, and massage the Renzhong and Chengjiang acupoints.
(5) Apply a small amount of medium to both cheeks of the patient, and the scraper should gently scrape the face from bottom to top. The scraper should also lightly massage the Ermen, Tinggong, and Tinghui acupoints on both sides of the patient's face, and the degree of redness of the facial skin should be considered.
Note: When performing scraping therapy on the head and face, it is important to control the force and speed of the scraping board. The skin on the head and face is very thin and rich in blood vessels, so the force should be gentle. Avoid applying excessive force, as it may damage the skin and affect the patient's facial appearance.
2. Chest and Abdominal Scraping Techniques
1. Chest Scraping Techniques
When performing scraping therapy on the chest and abdomen, the angle between the scraping board and the surface of the body should be small, resulting in less force being applied. The angle should be around 45°. The patient should lie on their back, and the scraper should be positioned on the left side of the patient to start scraping.
(1) The scraper should apply a small amount of medium to the surface of the patient's sternum, and hold the scraping board with the right hand. The scraper should scrape the surface of the sternum downwards from top to bottom, with a moderate amount of scraping.
(2) The scraper should lightly massage the Tiantu acupoint (be gentle when massaging the Tiantu acupoint, as excessive force can cause coughing or even choking).
(3) Using the sternum as the midline, the scraper should scrape the chest on both sides, towards the left and right. (Breastfeeding women should not undergo this treatment). The local skin should become slightly red.
Note: When scraping the chest, the angle between the scraping board and the body surface should not be too large. The larger the angle, the stronger the force applied. The chest is where the heart and lungs are located, and excessive force can affect and damage their functions. It is not suitable for patients with severe heart or lung diseases.
2. Abdominal Scraping Techniques
For abdominal scraping, the focus should be on the patient's navel. After applying a small amount of medium, the scraper should scrape the abdomen in a clockwise direction. The degree of redness of the abdominal skin should be considered. The scraper should also lightly massage the Liangshu, Dadun, Qihai, and Guanyuan acupoints using the scraping board.
Note: When scraping the abdomen, the force should be evenly distributed and gentle. Excessive force may make the patient feel uncomfortable. When massaging acupoints, a slight amount of force should be applied (not suitable for pregnant women).
