what causes blurred vision in both eyes

April 14, 2023
Blurred vision is not only caused by the deterioration of the lens in the elderly, but can also occur in young people, such as trauma to the eyes, bacterial infections, poor eye hygiene and lack of vitamins for the eyes.

Eye diseases

Eye diseases are the main cause of blurred vision. Cataracts, such as senile cataracts, can cause cloudy crystalloids and loss of vision, which can be treated surgically, and glaucoma, which can cause optic nerve disorders, loss of vision or blurred vision and headaches caused by a sharp rise in eye pressure. Special attention must be paid to the elderly to actively conduct fundus examinations to detect glaucoma in a timely manner so as not to find untimely treatment leading to blindness.

Inflammatory infections

Inflammation of the eye caused by bacteria, fungi, parasites, etc. can also cause blurred vision. Common eye inflammation due to inflammatory infections include keratitis, corneal ulceration, endophthalmitis, ophthalmoplegia, etc. It is important to seek medical treatment in a timely manner and not to abuse eye drops to avoid aggravating the inflammation.

Eye trauma

If the eye has suffered a trauma is also very easy to cause blurred vision. Common eye trauma are eye perforation, blunt contusion, explosion, radiation and chemical burns, etc. This situation requires us to pay attention to eye safety and take extra precautions.

Excessive eye use

Prolonged use of the eyes to play games, look at the computer, read and write, etc. may cause prolonged muscle tension around the eyes causing visual fatigue and blurred vision. Especially for teenagers, whose vision is not fully developed, excessive eye use can easily cause blurred vision.

Systemic diseases

Systemic disorders of metabolic circulation may also lead to blurred vision. For example, hypertensive, diabetic, nephritic, hematologic retinopathy, macular degeneration, ischemic optic neuropathy and other fundus diseases may cause blurred vision.

Vitamin deficiency

The eye needs the help of vitamin A to participate in the process of seeing, vitamin B to participate in the conduction function of the optic nerve, and vitamin C and vitamin E to help maintain normal vision. If the body is deficient in vitamins, it can easily lead to dry, itchy, astringent eyes, blurred vision loss, etc.
