The great thing about the hard pull as a comprehensive exercise is that it works almost all the muscles of the body, in fact it is difficult to reduce it to a single part of the body, although most people are used to reducing it to a back exercise. Back Muscle Groups

The reason why hard pulls are considered a workout for the back in the bodybuilding community is because the back muscles are always the main muscles involved in generating force throughout the hard pulling process. After a period of hard pulling intensive exercise, your lower back (posterior) erector spinae muscles will become exceptionally developed and strong. In addition to the above-mentioned erector spinae muscles, the latissimus dorsi and other upper back muscles will also be largely involved in the exercise during the hard pull to the peak stage (before lockout).

Gluteus maximus and other related muscles

The hard pull is a hip movement, and if you want your hips to be round and strong, the hard pull is probably the best way to go. The gluteus maximus comes into play during the lift phase as well as at the lockout point, especially at the highest lockout point when the gluteus maximus is tensed and contracted to its maximum strength. In addition to the gluteus maximus, the hard pull also allows the other muscles around the hips and glutes to be actively involved in firing.

Leg muscles

Like the squat, the hard pull works almost the entire leg muscles, and the hard pull is critical to leg strength when pulling up off the ground. In particular, the straight leg hard pull focuses more on the hamstrings! In fact leg strength is what starts and performs the hard pull, while back strength controls the postural position of the torso throughout the movement.

Arms

The muscles of the arms are in the contraction phase throughout the pull up process. The forearm muscles in particular are the most prominent, as they have to be combined with the palms of the hands to grip the barbell.

Shoulders and trapezius

During a hard pull, the shoulder deltoids and trapezius are involved in the traction. Strong hard pullers tend to have nice shoulders and well-developed trapezius muscles.
