Morning Runs: A Key to Weight Loss and Wellness

October 17, 2023

Many people's bodies are in a sub-healthy state due to work, and the phenomenon of weight gain is becoming more and more serious due to long periods of sitting and lack of exercise. In order to improve their physical condition, they choose to do morning runs to strengthen their exercise. Can morning runs help them lose weight?

Can Morning Runs Help with Weight Loss?

Morning runs can help with weight loss.

During morning runs, the body's blood circulation is accelerated, and fat is constantly burned, effectively preventing fat accumulation in the body, thus achieving the goal of weight loss.

Methods for Losing Weight through Morning Runs

Warm up before running

Before starting a morning run, it is important to warm up. The body is relatively quiet at first, and warming up gradually transitions the body to a moderately tense state, improving the activity ability of various organs in preparation for the morning run. Therefore, before a morning run, you can do some arm swings, leg swings, torso rotations, squats, and waist bends, while also moving the knees, hips, and ankle joints.

Choose a slow jog

If you choose to run fast during a morning run, the calf muscles will be constantly tense, causing them to become more developed. In addition, running fast deprives the body of sufficient oxygen, essentially performing anaerobic exercise, which does not burn more fat. On the other hand, slow jogging, a low-intensity aerobic exercise, can burn more fat.

Massage immediately after running

It is best to massage the body for about 5-10 minutes after a morning run to prevent the legs from becoming thicker. Taking a hot foot bath before going to bed will further enhance the slimming effect.

How Long Should You Run in the Morning to Lose Weight?

Slow jogging is a form of aerobic exercise, and you need to run for at least half an hour to consume the body's energy. It is most effective to run every other day, so you don't need to run every day. Running 3-5 times a week is sufficient. On days without morning runs, you can choose to do stretching exercises to prevent the accumulation of fat and fluids in the body. Morning run weight loss is a long-term process, so it is important to stay consistent and not to skip days.

Best Time for Morning Runs for Weight Loss

The best time for morning runs in spring and autumn is around 6:30 AM. In summer, due to the hot weather, it is best to do morning runs between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM. In winter, due to the dry weather, morning runs can be done between 6:40 AM and 7:00 AM. Morning runs are not suitable on foggy days.

Tips

In addition to exercise, healthy and scientific weight loss also requires adjusting one's diet, primarily focusing on light and low-fat foods. Avoid consuming high-fat, high-calorie foods, and learn to refuse spicy and stimulating foods. Only scientific weight loss can make oneself healthy and beautiful.
