Causes of Dysmenorrhea in Women

1. Physiological reasons

After ovulation every month, under the stimulation of progesterone, prostaglandins in the uterine endometrium will increase, causing excessive uterine contractions. This can lead to uterine spasms, local ischemia and hypoxia, ultimately causing dysmenorrhea.

2. Psychological reasons

Some women always feel fearful and nervous when their menstruation is approaching. They feel depressed and listless during their period, which can also affect the smooth flow of menstrual blood and cause dysmenorrhea.

3. Gynecological diseases

If women suffer from gynecological diseases such as endometriosis, cervicitis, or pelvic inflammatory disease, these conditions can also cause poor blood flow during menstruation, leading to dysmenorrhea.

4. Exposure to cold during menstruation

If women often consume cold drinks, wash with cold water, and do not pay attention to adding clothing during menstruation, they are prone to cold in the uterus, which can induce dysmenorrhea. Prolonged cold in the uterus may also lead to infertility.

5. Genetic factors

If you have dysmenorrhea, you can ask your mother about her medical history. Generally, if the mother has a history of dysmenorrhea, the daughter is likely to have it as well.
