【Morphological Characteristics of Tian Peng Cao】

Tian Peng Cao is a perennial herb. The stem is slender, lying down at the lower part, with sparse branches at the upper part, 15-30 cm tall, green or purple.

The leaves are opposite, sessile, ovate or lanceolate, 5-20 mm long, 2-8 mm wide, with sharp ends, golden edges or shallow wavy margins.

The umbel inflorescence is terminal or axillary, white flowers with slender pedicels like silk. The calyx has 5 lanceolate sepals, pointed tips, membranous edges, and smooth surfaces.

The petals are 5, equal to or slightly shorter than the sepals, with 2 deep lobes reaching the base. There are 5 stamens and 2-3 styles.

The capsule is slightly longer than the persistent calyx, and splits into 6 lobes when mature. The flowering period is in spring. It grows in fields, riverbanks, or humid areas. It is distributed in most parts of China.


【Efficacy and Functions of Tian Peng Cao】

Tian Peng Cao has the effects of dispelling wind and dampness, promoting blood circulation and reducing swelling, detoxifying and stopping bleeding. It is mainly used to treat colds, diarrhea, dysentery, rheumatism, bruises, and fractures.

1. "Plant Name and Real Picture": "Tian Peng Cao, also known as Liang Mao Cao, grows in Jianchang River embankment. The fine stems spread on the ground like tangled hair, with more than a hundred stems in a group. There are three or two leaves at the top of the stem, resembling newly grown willow leaves. 2. Treatment of cold dysentery: Take 2 liang of Tian Peng Cao, decoct them in water, and take twice a day.

3. Treatment of hemorrhoids: Grind Tian Peng Cao into powder, mix it with a little salt for wet application, or mix it with sesame oil for dry application. Apply one or two times, and the hemorrhoids will shrink.

4. Treatment of boils: Take an appropriate amount of fresh Tian Peng Cao, mash it with a little salt, and apply as a poultice.

5. Treatment of bruises and injuries: Take 1 or 2 liang of Tian Peng Cao, 2 to 4 liang of yellow wine, and an appropriate amount of water. Decoct and take orally.
