  The liver is a very important organ for the human body. If our liver is not functioning well, it directly affects the functioning of our body. So how can we enhance liver function?   1. Supplement minerals

  Ensure that you consume enough minerals in your daily diet, such as magnesium, calcium, potassium, zinc, selenium, and manganese. For patients with cirrhosis, doctors may also recommend them to take more vitamins and minerals than usual to activate liver function.

  2. Drink lemon water

  Water helps to speed up metabolism and remove impurities and toxins from the body, reducing the burden on the liver. Start your day by drinking a glass of warm water, which can awaken the body's functions. Liver disease experts suggest adding lemon to water, as the acidity of lemon can stimulate the liver to produce bile, which is beneficial for detoxification.   3. Regularly massage

  When lying down, gently massage the gallbladder and liver, which are located below the rib cage on the right side of the body. Massage helps to promote blood circulation in the liver area, thereby improving overall metabolic function.
 


 

  4. Stay away from alcohol and drugs

  Alcohol is extremely harmful to liver function. People with liver damage must abstain from alcohol. In addition, many people have the habit of buying over-the-counter painkillers from the pharmacy when they feel unwell. However, these medications may contain acetaminophen, which, after metabolized by the liver, may produce some toxic metabolites that can damage the liver.

  5. Pay attention to diet

  In terms of diet, patients with poor liver function should follow the "three highs and one low" principle: high calorie, high protein, high vitamins, and low fat. To protect the liver and promote its repair, regeneration, and functional recovery, it is important to have a balanced diet that reduces the burden on the liver, provides appropriate calories, and minimizes protein consumption.

  6. Eat purple and cabbage-colored vegetables regularly

  Cruciferous vegetables such as beets, radishes, cabbage, purple cabbage, and sesame greens, or vegetables containing sulfur such as onions, garlic, and cauliflower, can enhance the body's detoxification function. Eating two servings of cruciferous vegetables daily can enhance liver detoxification function.
