Blood-filled Herb, affectionately known as the bone-setting medicine, is the whole plant and root of the honeysuckle family plant Red Mountain Flower. It is harvested in summer and autumn, chopped and dried or used fresh. It mainly grows in open fields and damp forests. Its medicinal effects are powerful, but it has been overlooked by people. Medicinal Uses of Blood-filled Herb

① Treat acute and chronic nephritis: 5 grams of blood-filled herb, 30 grams of root of Hovenia acerba, 12 grams of bark of Litsea glutinosa, and 12 grams of Lysimachia christinae. Decoction for oral administration. (Selected Compilation of Internal Medicine)

② Treat rheumatic pain and rubella: Use an appropriate amount of blood-filled herb. Decoction for external washing on affected areas.

③ Treat infantile paralysis and injuries from falls: First, use plum blossom needle to puncture the affected area, then pound fresh stems and leaves of blood-filled herb into powder, and wrap it with wine-fried external packaging.

④ Treat fractures: Use an appropriate amount of fresh blood-filled herb, grind it into paste, and apply with wine or boiled water.
