Yasong is the whole grass with roots of Sedum Aizoon, a plant of the Crassulaceae family. It is mainly distributed in Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan, and Yunnan. It has the medicinal effect of clearing heat and detoxification. Let's learn about the medicinal value of Yasong below.
[Medicinal Value of Yasong]
Traditional Chinese medicine believes that Yasong has the effect of clearing heat and detoxification. It is mainly used to treat hot toxic carbuncles, erysipelas, orchitis, burns, damp sores, bacterial dysentery, and amoebic dysentery.
In addition to this, Yasong also has a sedative effect and can promote wound healing.
Treatment for erysipelas in children: 15g of Yasong, 9g each of honeysuckle, forsythia, dahurian angelica leaf, dandelion, cortex moutan, red peony, and herba lithospermi. Boil with water and take orally. ("Natural Medicine Records of Qinling and Bashan")
Treatment for orchitis: Appropriate amount of Yasong. Mash and apply externally. ("Natural Medicine Records of Qinling and Bashan")
[Plant Morphology of Yasong]

[Cultivation Methods of Yasong]
Before planting Yasong, it is best to prepare the soil and sterilize it. The sterilization method can be spraying formalin and covering it with plastic sheet for five days, then uncovering it and exposing it to the sun for a few days.
After Yasong arrives at home, do not immediately pot it. First, soak it in water with a small dose of rooting agent for about an hour. Some people use sand for planting Yasong, but I do not recommend it.
If conditions permit, red soil can be used. If conditions are not available, I recommend a type of powdered shale called pageite. If conditions permit, it is best to choose ground planting with root protectors and avoid pot planting as much as possible.
After planting, provide shade and wind protection for Yasong, but ventilation is necessary. If conditions permit, build a greenhouse for Yasong. Remember not to remove the leaves of Yasong when it arrives home. Then water it thoroughly with water mixed with rooting agent.
