Fighting Fatigue: Traditional Chinese Medicinal Diets to Boost Energy

Nowadays, more and more people are experiencing excessive fatigue due to long working hours, high labor intensity, and excessive mental stress. Excessive fatigue is detrimental to health, and if not taken care of, it can lead to a state of suboptimal health. So how can we relieve excessive fatigue? Today, I will introduce three traditional Chinese medicinal diets that can help you fight fatigue.
 


 

Anti-Fatigue Medicinal Diets

1. Roasted Eel with Chestnuts

Ingredients: 400g eel, 200g chestnuts, 2 shallots, 10g ginger, a little red chili, 50g snow pea pods, 5g salt, 4g soy sauce.

Instructions:

1. Wash and cut the shallots into sections; wash and slice the ginger; wash and cut the snow pea pods into segments, blanch in boiling water;

2. After cleaning the eel, deep-fry it until golden brown; shell the chestnuts and steam them until cooked;

3. Heat oil in a pan, add shallots, ginger, and red chili to stir-fry until fragrant, then drizzle with soy sauce;

4. Add the eel and chestnuts, and cook until the snow pea pods are tender.

Effects:

1. Chestnuts: Have the effects of nourishing the stomach and spleen, strengthening tendons and bones, nourishing yin and tonifying the kidneys, and anti-aging.

2. Eel: Has the effects of tonifying the kidneys and strengthening yang, nourishing the blood, dispelling wind and dampness, strengthening tendons and bones, regulating blood sugar, improving brain function, and beautifying the skin.

3. Snow pea pods: Have the effects of harmonizing the spleen and stomach, promoting lactation, moisturizing the intestines, and nourishing the body.

4. Roasted Eel with Chestnuts: This dish has the effects of nourishing the stomach and spleen, tonifying the kidneys and strengthening the waist, fighting fatigue, nourishing the blood, and anti-aging.
 


 

2. Ginseng and Chinese Yam Sticky Rice Porridge

Ingredients: 10g ginseng, 50g Chinese yam, 50g sticky rice, appropriate amount of brown sugar.

Instructions:

1. Slice the ginseng into thin pieces;

2. Put the ginseng slices, sticky rice, and Chinese yam into a pot, and pour in an appropriate amount of water;

3. Cook the porridge together, and when the porridge is cooked, add brown sugar.

Effects:

1. Ginseng: Nourishes yin and strengthens yang, calms the mind, and improves eyesight.

2. Sticky rice: Tonifies the middle burner and benefits the qi, stops spontaneous sweating.

3. Chinese yam: Strengthens the spleen and nourishes the stomach.

4. Ginseng and Chinese Yam Sticky Rice Porridge: This porridge has multiple effects such as nourishing the vitality, refreshing the mind, fighting fatigue, and strengthening the heart.
 


 

3. Goji Berry and Lamb Soup

Ingredients: 200g lamb, 10g goji berries, 15g bupleurum, 2 bok choy, 3g salt.

Instructions:

1. Rinse the bupleurum, wash the bok choy and cut it into sections, slice the lamb;

2. Put the bupleurum in a pot and add 1500ml of water to make a stock. Simmer until about 1200ml of liquid is left, remove the residue and keep the broth;

3. Add the goji berries to the broth and cook until soft, then add the sliced lamb and bok choy. Cook until the meat is done and season with salt.

Effects:

1. Lamb: Can dispel cold and tonify the body, and has therapeutic and tonic effects on various deficiency conditions.

2. Goji berries: Improve eyesight and enhance immune function.

3. Bupleurum: Has the effects of harmonizing the exterior and interior, soothing the liver, and raising yang.

4. Goji Berry and Lamb Soup: Enhances physical strength, fights fatigue, improves metabolism and circulation, nourishes the abdominal cavity, nourishes the kidney qi, and prevents and treats menopausal symptoms.
