【Nutritional Value of Pig Heart】

  1. Nourishes the Heart

There is a saying in folk medicine that eating heart can nourish the heart. Pig heart is rich in protein, amino acids, and minerals, which can improve the function of our myocardium and provide sufficient nutrition to our heart muscles. Although eating pig heart cannot completely treat heart disease, it can nourish our heart muscles. Studies have shown that many heart diseases are related to myocardial damage and fatigue. Therefore, eating pig heart regularly is important for preventing heart diseases.

  2. Calms the Mind

Pig heart also has a calming effect. Research has shown that pig heart contains a component similar to sedatives. Eating pig heart can achieve the goal of calming emotions and relaxing muscles. Therefore, people who often suffer from insomnia, have frequent dreams, or feel anxious can consume pig heart to nourish their hearts and calm their minds.

Pig heart is a traditional ingredient with various ways to enjoy it. From the northern-style cured pig heart to the southern-style pig heart soup, they are all delicious. But have you ever tried braised pig heart? Rinse the pig heart and steam it until it is 80% cooked, then braise it in a sauce over low heat. The braised pig heart should not be eaten immediately. Drain the sauce, then bake it in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius for about 4 minutes to remove moisture and excess fat. Finally, shred it and serve with a flavorful dipping sauce. This creates a Western-style shredded pig heart dish. Give it a try!

Although pig heart is nutritious, it is not suitable for everyone. Pig heart contains high cholesterol, so people with high blood pressure and high blood lipid levels should avoid eating it.
