Yasong is the whole grass of the Crassulaceae plant Sedum tetractinum. It is mainly distributed in Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan, and Yunnan. It has the effect of clearing heat and detoxification. Let's learn about the medicinal value of Yasong.
[Medicinal value of Yasong]
Traditional Chinese medicine believes that Yasong has the effect of clearing heat and detoxification. It is used to treat hot abscesses, erysipelas, orchitis, burns, damp sores, bacterial dysentery, and amoebic dysentery.
In addition, Yasong also has a sedative effect and can promote wound healing.
Treatment of childhood erysipelas: 15g of Yasong, 9g each of honeysuckle, forsythia, dandelion, moutan bark, red peony, and rhubarb. Boil and take orally. (From "Natural Medicinal Plants in Qinling Mountains and Bashan")
Treatment of orchitis: appropriate amount of Yasong. Mash and apply externally. (From "Natural Medicinal Plants in Qinling Mountains and Bashan")
[Form and characteristics of Yasong]
Yasong is an annual herbaceous plant, with no hairs on the whole body and a fibrous root. The stem is solitary or clustered, 5-30 cm tall. The leaves are whorled, 3-5 in number, oblong to spatulate, 8-20 mm long, 2-4 mm wide;
The apex is sharply pointed, the base is gradually narrowed, the margin is entire, and there is no stalk or almost no stalk. The inflorescence is conical or umbellate, with long branches, and the lower leaf axils also bear inflorescences, with sparse flowers;
The pedicel is 5-8 mm long and slender; the sepals are 5, narrowly triangular to lanceolate; the petals are 5, white, rectangular-ovate; the stamens are 10, with wide spoon-shaped scales and deep notches at the apex;
The carpels are 5, nearly erect, fused at the lower part, with small nipple-like projections. When mature, the upper half is inclined and the seeds are few and tiny.
[Care methods for Yasong]
After planting Yasong, don't think there is nothing to do. On the contrary, the boring days have come. Spraying water three or more times a day is essential, and spraying with water mixed with rooting agent every three or five days. Remember not to spray water at noon.
After that, insecticide should be applied every ten to fifteen days. Generally, four or five rounds of insecticide are sufficient. During the care period, you will find many small buds, but don't be happy, they are only water sprouts. It's a good sign if these buds can grow into leaves.
Similarly, new buds will also emerge on the leaves, which can only be considered as a good sign, not a sign of survival. If the management is not good, it may still die.
After Yasong survives, do not immediately put it under a shed. This will easily cause sunburn. Let Yasong gradually adapt to sunlight, so open the shed little by little.
