Baiduyao has a strong vitality and requires minimal management. It is commonly planted in parks, and for potted plants, a flowerpot with a diameter of about 50 centimeters and no bottom holes can be used. Fill the pot with fertile pond mud to a depth of 2/3 and plant 5 seedlings per pot.

If you want to make it into a miniature potted plant, you can choose a pot with a diameter of about 20 centimeters. During the growth period, constantly topping the plant will promote dwarfing and tillering. Keep the pot moist during the growth period. If you choose to plant it in the courtyard, you don't need to worry about it freezing to death in winter. Baiduyao has strong cold resistance and generally does not require insulation measures.

It can be grown in open ground without protection and can naturally survive the winter. It needs to be replanted every two years. It generally does not have pests and diseases in well-ventilated and well-lit environments. However, when densely planted and with poor ventilation, it may be infested by red spider mites, which can be controlled with general insecticides.

In ancient times, people also dried Baiduyao for winter and spring consumption. First, blanch the fresh vegetables in boiling water, then dry and store them. When cooking, rehydrate the dried vegetables and they can be stir-fried or used to make soup, offering a unique flavor.

This vegetable has the function of clearing heat and cooling blood, making it a great summer vegetable. It is also rich in iron and other components. Cosmetics made from Baiduyao and other ingredients can reduce congestion, prevent dry skin, and protect against external irritants, providing beauty benefits.

Baiduyao is especially suitable for growing near water bodies and is distributed in various parts of China. Its tender stems and leaves can be harvested and used as a delicious wild vegetable, not only providing vitamins but also preventing diseases.

In rural areas, Baiduyao is considered a particularly good medicinal herb. When there are external injuries and bleeding, farmers directly crush the leaves of Baiduyao and apply them to the wounds. It not only has excellent detoxification effects but also can effectively stop bleeding and promote wound healing.
