【Treating Rheumatoid Arthritis with Wuyaohua】

1. For treating rheumatoid arthritis and lower back and leg pain, take 1 to 2 liang (measurement unit) of Dianchangshan root and decoct it for oral administration.

2. For treating hypertension, take 5 qian to 1 liang of Dianchangshan root. Decoct it, remove the residue, and add rice wine to cook one chicken egg. Consume it orally.

【Medicinal Properties of Wuyaohua】

Dry stems and leaves, with stems mostly cut into oblique slices.

Old stems have a diameter of 1.5-2 centimeters, with dark red skin and longitudinal fissures. The skin pores are not prominent. The central medullary part of the cross-section is relatively large and white, while the wood part is slightly yellow.

Young branches have yellow-green bark and visible rusty hairs. The medullary part has a diameter of 3 millimeters, and the outer skin is not easy to peel. The leaves are kidney-shaped or ovate, covered with fine hairs, and after drying, they become wrinkled and curled.

The leaves have a pungent smell and a slightly bitter taste. Tender branches with green color are preferred.
