【Detoxifying Effects of Throat Grass】
Throat grass also has detoxifying effects and is commonly used in folk medicine to treat snakebites. Applying fresh fruit juice to the eyes can treat eye heat and remove eye haze. It also has certain effects in treating migraines and toothaches.
Throat grass has the functions of clearing heat, detoxifying, reducing swelling, and relieving pain. It has good effects in treating diseases such as tonsillitis, pharyngitis, oral inflammation, acute conjunctivitis, and bruises.
【Medicinal Uses of Throat Grass】
① For treating throat swelling and pain, oral ulcers: Grind Fodingzhu into fine powder and blow it onto the affected area.
② For treating bruises or long sitting-induced lower back pain: One liang of throat grass, five qian of Xiantao grass, and one qian of Luantoufa. Soak in half a jin of alcohol. Take twice a day, with each dose not exceeding one liang.
③ For treating hemoptysis: Three qian of Fodingzhu. Grind it into powder and swallow it with wine.
④ For treating leukorrhea: One liang of Fodingzhu, one liang of bitter bamboo, and one liang of sugar. Add three small bowls of water and boil into two bowls of decoction. Take the decoction three times a day. (The first formula is from "Folk Medicinal Herbs in Guiyang")
⑤ For treating rheumatoid arthritis: Five qian of Fodingzhu. Decoct it in water and take orally. (From "Herbs in Guizhou")
