Zeng Sun Zelan Pill, a traditional Chinese medicine formula, is derived from the book "Essential Emergency Prescriptions". It is mainly used to treat various diseases caused by postpartum deficiency of Qi, blood, Yin, and Yang.
Zelan: It has the effects of promoting blood circulation, regulating menstruation, dispelling stasis, and eliminating swelling. It is used for irregular menstruation, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, postpartum stasis and abdominal pain, abscesses and swelling, and edema and ascites.
Licorice: It has the effects of nourishing the spleen, replenishing Qi, clearing heat, detoxifying, resolving phlegm, relieving cough, alleviating urgency, and harmonizing various medicines. It is commonly used for weak spleen and stomach, fatigue, palpitations, shortness of breath, cough with phlegm, abdominal and limb cramps and severe pain, abscesses and toxins, and relieving the toxicity and potency of drugs.
Angelica Sinensis: It has the effects of nourishing blood, promoting blood circulation, regulating menstruation, relieving pain, and moisturizing the intestines and facilitating bowel movements. It is commonly used for blood deficiency and paleness, dizziness and palpitations, irregular menstruation, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, cold and abdominal pain, rheumatic pain, falls and injuries, abscesses and sores, and dryness and constipation. Wine-soaked Angelica Sinensis can promote blood circulation and regulate menstruation. It is used for amenorrhea and dysmenorrhea, rheumatic pain, falls and injuries.
Aconite: It restores Yang and rescues collapse, boosts fire and assists Yang, dispels cold and relieves pain. It is used for collapse due to Yang deficiency, cold limbs with weak pulse, insufficient heart Yang, chest congestion and pain, cold vomiting and diarrhea, cold and abdominal pain, kidney Yang deficiency, impotence, cold uterus, Yin and cold edema, external invasion of Yang deficiency, and cold and damp rheumatic pain.
White Atractylodes: It has the effects of invigorating the spleen, replenishing Qi, drying dampness, promoting diuresis, stopping sweating, and calming the fetus. It is used for spleen deficiency with reduced appetite, bloating and diarrhea, phlegm and dizziness, edema, spontaneous sweating, and restless fetus.

Radix Rehmanniae: It nourishes Yin, clears heat, cools blood, and replenishes blood. It is used for fever with restlessness and thirst, internal heat with polydipsia, bone steaming and fatigue, eruptive diseases caused by heat, vomiting and bleeding caused by blood heat, hemorrhage, menorrhagia, hematuria, bloody stools, blood deficiency and paleness, dizziness and palpitations, scanty menstruation.
Dendrobium: It nourishes the stomach, generates fluid, nourishes Yin, and clears heat. It is commonly used for heat damage to body fluids, dry mouth and thirst, insufficient stomach Yin, little food with dry retching, post-illness lingering fever, Yin deficiency with vigorous fire, bone steaming and fatigue, dim vision, and weak tendons and bones.
Magnolia Bark: It dries dampness, eliminates phlegm, and relieves qi stagnation. It is used for dampness stagnation injuring the middle, epigastric distention and vomiting, food stagnation and qi stagnation, abdominal distention and constipation, phlegm and wheezing cough.
