  【Characteristics of Jue Tree Leaves】

  The Jue tree is tall and majestic, with dense green shade in the summer and bright red leaves in autumn.

  It can be planted alone or in clusters in parks, lawns near buildings, and used as shade trees. It can also be mixed with evergreen species to create a landscape forest. It can be planted in rows along sidewalks and roads as street trees.

  It can be widely used for greening in residential areas and rural "four sides". It is a common tree species for afforestation in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

  The leaf margin has single serrations, and there are 7-15 pairs of lateral veins. The flowers are monoecious, rarely polygamous, and the male and female flowers are on the same plant. The male flowers grow in clusters in the leaf axils or bract axils of the lower part of the new branch, while the female flowers, 1-3 in number, grow in the leaf axils of the upper part of the new branch.

  The calyx has 4-5 petals; the stamens are the same number as the calyx and arranged opposite to it; the female flowers have only one pistil, one ovary, and two oblique styles. The nut is oblique at the upper part, with a diameter of 2.5-4mm. The flowering period is from March to April, and the fruiting period is from October to November.

  【Medicinal Uses of Jue Tree Leaves】

  Prescription name: Ju Ye San (Decoction of Jue Tree Leaves)

  Composition: 3 liang of Jue Tree Leaves, 1 liang of Licorice (slightly charred, finely chopped), 2.5 liang of Ophiopogon japonicus (decored and remove the core), 1 liang of dried ginger (parched and cracked, finely chopped).

  Indications: Excessive and abnormal vaginal bleeding in women.

  Dosage: Take 4 qian (about 12g) each time, boil with one cup of water and add 3 jujubes. Boil until 6 minutes, remove the residue, and take it warm. It can be taken at any time.
