[Origin of the Name Zi Hua Di Ding ointment]

In the 33rd year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, after the establishment of the Konbaung Dynasty in Myanmar, they invaded China with their military power, and the Sino-Burmese War broke out. In February of the following year, General Fu Heng led a 50,000-strong army to invade Myanmar. Before departure, Emperor Qianlong personally awarded him the imperial seal in the Taihe Hall and presented him with the armor he used, expressing his trust and expectation. General Fu Heng led the army on a long and arduous journey, and the soldiers arrived at the Sino-Burmese border during the rainy season, which lasted for more than a month.

Myanmar is located in South Asia and has a subtropical climate, hot and rainy. Shortly after arriving at the Sino-Burmese border, many soldiers in the Qing army developed skin diseases such as red rashes and unknown toxins. General Fu Heng reported the situation to Emperor Qianlong, who became furious upon learning of it. Emperor Qianlong ordered the military doctors to control the disease by all means and immediately announced a nationwide search for effective medicine.

Soon after, a civilian claiming to be a physician's assistant requested an audience with the general and presented a medicine for treating the disease. With permission granted, the assistant used the medicine he brought to treat the soldiers, and the effect was remarkable!

Later, it was learned that the civilian was from Jiangxi Province, his hometown was Liu'an County, and his surname was Dong. His great-grandfather was a physician in the Imperial Hospital of the Ming Dynasty. The prescription he brought was a special treatment for skin diseases of emperors, princes, and concubines in the Ming Dynasty, called "Zi Hua Di Ding". It was named after a necessary ingredient, Di Ding grass.
