【Precautions】
Bai Fu Zi in the Qianzheng San formula has a warm and dry nature, suitable for those with wind-phlegm obstruction in the channels and a tendency toward cold. Sudden deviation of the mouth and eyes and a pale tongue with a white coating are the key indications for treatment.
If the symptoms are caused by qi deficiency and blood stasis or liver wind internal stirring, with corner of the mouth drooping or hemiplegia, this formula should not be used. Both Bai Fu Zi and Quan Xie in the formula are toxic substances, so caution should be exercised in their dosage.
Qianzheng San is a commonly used prescription for treating wind obstruction in the channels and sudden deviation of the mouth and eyes. If Wugong, Tian Ma, Di Long, and other herbs that dispel wind, relieve spasms, and invigorate channels are added, the therapeutic effect can be enhanced.
