【Plant Description of Di Shao Gua】
1. Di Shao Gua
The stem branches from the base. The leaves are opposite or nearly opposite; leaf blades are linear, 3-5cm long and 2-5mm wide, with raised midribs on the lower surface. Umbel-like inflorescences are axillary; the calyx is covered with soft hairs. The corolla is greenish-white; the corolla tube is cup-shaped, with three triangular lanceolate lobes that gradually close and are higher than the membranous division of the ovary. The fruit is spindle-shaped, gradually pointed at the apex, swollen in the middle, 5-6cm long, and approximately 2cm in diameter. The seeds are flat, dark brown, up to 8mm long, with white silky hairs, up to 2cm long. The flowering period of Di Shao Gua is from May to August, and the fruiting period is from August to October.
【Applications of Di Shao Gua in Prescriptions】
① For the treatment of deficiency of qi and blood: Take 1 liang of Di Shao Gua whole plant and 2 liang of Astragalus membranaceus. Decoct in water and take orally.
② For the treatment of neurasthenia: Take 1 jin of Di Shao Gua whole plant. Decoct in water and extract the juice. Use the juice to beat 2 eggs and drink it as tea. Take twice a day.
