1. Different Varieties
Di Ding Cao has many varieties, including Purple Di Ding. In addition to this variety, there is also White Di Ding. It is a perennial herb of the Papaveraceae family and does not require high soil requirements. It has a strong adaptability.
Purple Di Ding is one of the varieties, with many other names such as Guang Ban Jin Cai, Ye Jin Cai, and Guang E Jin Cai. It is related to the former, so they look similar but still have differences.
2. Different Plant Shapes
Di Ding Cao has a taproot and its plant is relatively tall, about 10-50 centimeters in height. It starts to branch from the base of the stem and has ridges on it.
Purple Di Ding does not have an above-ground stem. The overall height of the plant is about 4-14 centimeters, but it can reach over 20 centimeters in the fruiting period. The underground rhizome is relatively short and appears in a vertical state, with a pale brown color.
