Liu Jinu: Promoting Blood Circulation and Relieving Pain in Traditional Chinese Medicine

Liu Jinu is a traditional Chinese medicine that promotes blood circulation and relieves pain. It is the whole herb of the Chrysanthemum family, mainly produced in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, and other places. It has the effects of promoting blood circulation, regulating digestion, and relieving stagnation. It can be used to treat symptoms such as toothache, chronic bronchitis, and pharyngitis.
 


 

Preparation Method of Liu Jinu

1. "Lei Gong Pao Zhi Lun" by Liu Jinu: "After harvesting, remove the stems and leaves, and only use the fruits. Before use, wipe off the thin shell with a cloth." "Zheng Lei Ben Cao": "Grind it."

"Qi Xiao Liang Fang": "Remove the branches." "De Pei Ben Cao": "Grind and soak in hot water."

At present, take the original medicinal material of Liu Jinu, remove impurities and residual roots, wash and slightly moisten, cut into sections, and dry. Alternatively, wash the original medicinal material, slightly air dry, cut into sections, and sun dry.

2. Wine Liu Jinu "Lei Gong Pao Zhi Lun" by Liu Jinu: "Steam it with wine, take it out from the hour of the snake to the hour of the monkey, and use it for a thousand times."

"Ben Cao Yuan Shi": "The stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits can all be used. Wash them with wine, steam them, and sun dry."


 

Usage of Liu Jinu

Liu Jinu Wine

Prescription: 10g of Liu Jinu, 10g of licorice, 100ml of white wine.

Method: Crush Liu Jinu and licorice, put them in a pot, add 200ml of water, simmer until 100ml remains, then pour in 100ml of white wine, simmer until 100ml remains, remove the residue and set aside.

Effect: Promotes blood circulation, relieves pain. It is used to treat symptoms such as blood stasis and amenorrhea, postpartum abdominal pain due to stasis, fractures and injuries, as well as bleeding from wounds. Pregnant women should not drink this wine.
 


 

Contraindications of Liu Jinu

1. It should not be taken by those with weak Qi and blood, and those with weak spleen leading to diarrhea.

2. "Wei Sheng Yi Jian Fang": Do not take too much, as it may cause vomiting and diarrhea.

3. "Ben Cao Jing Shu": People with weak Qi and blood, weak spleen and stomach, and prone to diarrhea should not take it.
