Effective Therapies for Dysmenorrhea: Natural Remedies for Menstrual Pain

Therapy 1

Composition: 15g of Angelica, Ligusticum, Myrrh, and Safflower each, 1000ml of white wine.

Preparation: Crush the first 4 ingredients, put them in a cloth bag, place them in a container, add white wine, seal it, soak it for 7 days, filter out the residue, and it's ready.

Usage: Oral administration: Take 10-15ml on an empty stomach, twice daily.

Indications: Dysmenorrhea (premenstrual type).

Precautions: It is effective for irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea (blood stasis), and injuries. It can be used externally (apply to the affected area), but should not be used if the skin is broken. Start taking it one week before the onset of dysmenorrhea.

Therapy 2

Composition: 100g of Hawthorn (dried and pitted), 300ml of 60-degree white wine.

Preparation: Put the above ingredients in a container, add white wine, seal it, soak it for 7 days, and it's ready. Add 200ml of white wine before use.

Usage: Oral administration: Take 10-20ml each time, twice daily.

Indications: Dysmenorrhea in women, body pain.

Therapy 3

Composition: 150g of Angelica, Astragalus each, 500ml of white wine.

Preparation: Chop the first two ingredients, put them in a container, add white wine, seal it, soak it for 7 days, and it's ready.

Usage: Oral administration: Start taking 5 days before menstruation, take 10ml each time, twice daily, for a course of 7 days.

Indications: Dysmenorrhea, irregular menstruation, menorrhagia.

Therapy 4

Composition: 120g of Safflower, 400ml of 60-degree white wine.

Preparation: Wash the above ingredients, put them in a container, add white wine, seal it, shake it once a day, soak it for 7 days, filter out the residue, and it's ready.

Usage: Oral administration: Take 10ml each time, or mix with an equal amount of cold boiled water, or add an appropriate amount of brown sugar, twice daily.

Indications: Deficiency and cold of the Chong and Ren meridians in women, blood stasis dysmenorrhea, also used for injuries, rheumatoid arthritis.

Therapy 5

Composition: 120g of White Hibiscus, 60g of Black Soybeans, 500ml of white wine.

Preparation: Stir-fry the black beans until fragrant, put them together with the Hibiscus in a container, add white wine, seal it, soak it for 7 days, filter out the residue, and it's ready.

Usage: Oral administration: Start taking 7 days before menstruation, take 20ml each time, once in the morning and once in the evening.

Indications: Dysmenorrhea, irregular menstruation.

Therapy 6

Composition: 50g of Salvia, 50g of Safflower, 500ml of white wine.

Preparation: Slice the Salvia, put it together with the Safflower in a container, add white wine, seal it, soak it for 7 days, filter out the residue, and it's ready.

Usage: Oral administration: Start taking 2 days before menstruation, take twice daily.

Indications: Dysmenorrhea (premenstrual or menstrual type).

Therapy 7

Composition: 100g of Motherwort, 30g of Salvia, 50g each of Ligusticum and Fennel, 700ml of white wine. For cold coagulation dysmenorrhea, double the amount of Fennel; for deficiency of Qi and blood, double the amount of Salvia, and add 30-50g of Astragalus.

Preparation: Grind the first 4 ingredients into coarse powder, put them in a container, add white wine, seal it, soak it for 7-14 days, filter out the residue, and it's ready.

Usage: Oral administration: Start taking 5 days before menstruation, take 15-30ml each time, or mix with an equal amount of water, or add an appropriate amount of brown sugar, twice daily.

Indications: All types of dysmenorrhea.

Therapy 8

Composition: 30g of Acorus calamus root, 60g each of Uncaria rhynchophylla and Stachys sieboldii, 30g of Achyranthes bidentata, appropriate amount of yellow wine.

Preparation: Grind the above ingredients into fine powder and set aside.

Usage: Oral administration: Take 3g with yellow wine each time, or decoct 6g with yellow wine. Take three times daily.

Indications: Dysmenorrhea.
