Seaweed, a familiar ingredient to all of us, but many people are not aware of its benefits. Taking seaweed orally can reduce the absorption of radioactive element strontium in the intestines. Red Braised Radish Seaweed can help with water retention, relieve gas, and aid in weight loss!
【Name】
Red Braised Radish Seaweed
【Ingredients】
Seaweed, radish, cloves, fennel, cinnamon, Sichuan peppercorn, walnut kernel, vegetable oil, soy sauce, all in appropriate amounts.
【Preparation】
1. Soak the seaweed in water for 24 hours (changing the water twice in the middle), then wash and cut it into shreds. Cut the radish into thick shreds as well.
2. Heat the vegetable oil, stir-fry the seaweed for a few seconds, then add cloves, fennel, cinnamon, Sichuan peppercorn, walnut kernel, soy sauce, and water to bring to a boil.
3. Reduce the heat and simmer until the seaweed becomes tender, then add the radish shreds and braise until cooked. Serve and enjoy.
【Precautions】
Pregnant women and nursing mothers should not eat too much seaweed.
This is because the iodine in seaweed can enter the bloodstream of the fetus and infant, causing thyroid dysfunction. Pregnant women only need to eat seaweed 1-2 times a week to meet their iodine needs during pregnancy.
However, seaweed also contains high levels of arsenic, reaching 35-50 milligrams per kilogram, which is caused by water pollution.
Both arsenic and its compounds are toxic, with the most toxic being trivalent arsenic (such as arsenic trioxide). While pentavalent arsenic is less toxic, it can still be converted to trivalent arsenic in the human body.
