Curing Sitting Sore: Effective Treatments for Office Workers

February 29, 2024

The most dreaded thing for office workers is sitting for long periods of time without moving, which can easily lead to various diseases, especially in hot weather. One of these diseases is called "sitting sore". Can sitting sore be cured?

Can sitting sore be cured?

Sitting sore is mostly caused by sitting on a chair for too long without moving, resulting in poor circulation in the blood system. This can lead to the formation of hard, red bumps, which can become necrotic if not treated. However, if the bumps appear before sitting, it indicates an infection.

To cure sitting sore, one can take internal medicine such as Xiaofeng Powder combined with cooling blood tonic, or use Wu Wei Disinfection Drink with additional ingredients. External treatments can include using a decoction made from honeysuckle, Sichuan pepper, and golden cypress for fumigation and washing, or using a bath with bitter ginseng decoction.

A comprehensive treatment approach is beneficial for recovery.

Application of Wu Wei Disinfection Drink

Ingredients: 15g of honeysuckle, 6g of wild chrysanthemum, 6g of dandelion, 6g of violet, 6g of purple back Tiankuizi.

Usage: Boil the ingredients in a cup of water for eight minutes. Add half a cup of alcohol without ash and boil for another two to three boils. Take it hot and sweat it out under a blanket.

Efficacy: Early stage of carbuncle. Fever and chills, hard bumps like millet, hard and deep-rooted like iron nails, as well as abscesses, swollen glands, redness, swelling, and pain, red tongue with yellow coating, and rapid pulse.

Symptoms of sitting sore

At the beginning, the buttocks appear red and itchy, with small bumps the size of millet or beans. Then, red and itchy areas become red, swollen, and painful, similar to being burned by fire. Severe itching often leads to continuous oozing and spreading of the sores.

The initial red bumps gradually enlarge and develop into pustular sores, becoming hard and red nodules. Patients may feel itchy or have mild pain, but generally do not experience systemic symptoms.

Sitting sores can manifest as nipple-like growth or scar-like hardening of the skin, often recurring and lasting for weeks or months without easy cure. Prolonged sitting, unclean skin, scratching, or weakened immune system can all trigger this condition.
