Source: The whole plant with roots of Sedum lineare of the Crassulaceae family. The whole plant with roots is collected in spring and summer, washed and dried in the shade, or used fresh.
Alias: Yuguojingtian, Xiaoe'erchang (in Shaanxi), Xiaoe'erchang, Banbianlian.
Efficacy: Clears heat and detoxifies. It treats pediatric erysipelas, bacterial dysentery, amoebic dysentery, scalds, and orchitis.
English name: Herb of Slenderleaf Stonecrop.
First recorded in: "Shaanxi Materia Medica".
Meridian tropism: Lung meridian, large intestine meridian.
Properties: Cold, sour taste, astringent.
Functions and Indications of Yasong
Functions and Indications: It is used to treat heat-toxic swellings, erysipelas, orchitis, scalds, damp sores, and bacterial dysentery.
Usual usage:
Oral administration, decoction, 15-30g; or pounded juice, fresh product, 50-100g.
External application, appropriate amount, pounded and applied; or pounded juice applied; or boiled water for washing.
Selected formulas for Yasong:
1. Treatment of orchitis: Take an appropriate amount of Yasong, pound it into a paste, and apply externally.
2. Treatment of pediatric erysipelas: Take 15g of Yasong, and 9g each of honeysuckle flower, forsythia fruit, Isatis leaf, dandelion, moutan bark, red peony root, and lithospermum. Boil with water and take orally.
