Xi Xi grass is mentioned in the Tang Ben Cao: "Xi Xi, the leaves are similar to sour plum but narrow and long, the flowers are yellow and white, recognized in the fields." And "Zhu Gao Mei, the leaves are similar to Cang Er, the stem has hairs, growing in wetlands, found everywhere."

Shu Ben Cao: "The Tu Jing says, (Xi Xi) is about two feet tall, with greenish-yellow fruits. In summer, the leaves are harvested and used, found in wetlands."

"Zhu Gao Mei, the leaves are similar to Cang Er, with two opposite branches, both stem and leaves are hairy, yellow and white in color. The sprouts are harvested in May and June and dried in the sun."

Do: Xi Xi grass is suitable for people with wind-dampness arthralgia, weak tendons and bones, weak lower back and knees, stroke, facial and eye deviation, hemiplegia, wind rash, damp sores, bites from insects and animals, malaria, jaundice, and other conditions, especially for patients with damp-heat arthralgia.

Don't: People without wind-dampness should use it with caution.
