February 24, 2024

Yasong is the whole herb with root of Sedum sarmentosum, a member of the Crassulaceae family. Due to its ability to clear heat and detoxify, it is often used to treat burns and scalds. Let's learn more about Yasong.

Sedum sarmentosum is a perennial succulent herb belonging to the Crassulaceae family. It grows up to 30-40cm tall, with long creeping rhizomes. The leaves are spoon-shaped and fuzzy, about 0.3-0.5cm wide.

The inflorescence is not flat or slightly flat-topped, with yellow flowers blooming from June to July. It grows on slopes under trees, tolerates cold and drought, prefers abundant sunlight but can also tolerate partial shade, and does not have high soil requirements but requires good drainage.

Landscape use: It can be used for flower beds, flower borders, or planted in patches as ground cover for slope protection. It can also be used to decorate rock gardens.

Cultivation and propagation: It can be propagated by sowing, division, and stem cuttings. It can be divided in spring and autumn, and stem cuttings are relatively easy. It can be done throughout the growing season.

Choose sandy loam soil with good drainage or sunny and dry locations for planting. After the first frost, cut off the aboveground parts and water with freezing water, and the plants can safely overwinter. It is distributed in Jilin, Liaoning, and other parts of China.

After planting Yasong, don't think there's nothing to do. On the contrary, boring days are coming. Watering three times a day or more is essential, and watering with water mixed with rooting hormone every three to five days is also necessary. Remember not to water at noon.

After that, insect control should be carried out every ten to fifteen days. Generally, four to five rounds of insect control are enough. During the care period, you will find many small sprouts, but don't be happy, as they are only water sprouts. It is a good sign only if these sprouts can grow into leaves.

New sprouts will also emerge on the top of the leaves, which is a good sign, but it doesn't mean the plant is alive. If not managed well, it may still die.

After the plant survives, do not immediately put it in a greenhouse, as it is easy for Yasong to be burned. Instead, let it gradually adapt to sunlight and open the greenhouse little by little.
