Diet Therapy for Chronic Leukemia: Natural Remedies to Alleviate Symptoms

Leukemia is a disease that scares many people because it is more common in young people and can occur in children as well. Based on the speed of disease progression and the maturity of white blood cells, leukemia can be divided into two major categories: acute and chronic. Chronic leukemia can be alleviated through diet therapy.


1. Warm Stasis Type:

Clinical manifestations include fever, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, petechiae, irritability, constipation, dry mouth, reddish tongue with little saliva, yellow dry coating, and wiry, slippery, and rapid pulse.

1. Strawberry Lemon Juice:

Ingredients: 90g strawberries, 50ml honey, 90ml lemon juice, 60ml watermelon juice.

Instructions: Mix the strawberry juice with the other ingredients, and add some ice cubes. Drink 2-3 times daily.

2. Aloe Vera Drink:

Ingredients: 1 aloe vera leaf (about 30cm long), 25g sugar, 1 apple, 1 pear.

Instructions: Press the aloe vera, apple, and pear to extract the juice. Mix the juice with sugar and drink twice daily.

3. Rehmannia, Lithospermum, and Radix Scrophulariae Root Porridge:

Ingredients: 30g rehmannia, 15g lithospermum, 15g radix scrophulariae root, 60g polished rice.

Instructions: Boil rehmannia, lithospermum, and radix scrophulariae root with 500ml of water until it reduces to 300ml. Add an appropriate amount of water and polished rice to make porridge. Eat daily.


2. Qi and Yin Deficiency Type:

Clinical manifestations include palpitations, shortness of breath, low-grade fever, night sweats, dizziness, tinnitus, dry mouth and throat, and restless sleep. The tongue is pale red with little coating, and the pulse is deep and rapid.

1. Sea Cucumber and Ophiopogon Japonicus Porridge:

Ingredients: 100g sea cucumber, 25g ophiopogon japonicus, 100g polished rice, a little rock sugar.

Instructions: Slice the sea cucumber; simmer ophiopogon japonicus to extract concentrated juice and remove impurities. Cook the porridge with polished rice and sea cucumber, and add rock sugar when boiling. Eat 1-2 times daily.

2. Radix Adenophorae, Polygonatum, and Cordyceps Stewed Turtle Meat:

Ingredients: 15g radix adenophorae, 15g polygonatum, 5g cordyceps, 100g turtle meat.

Instructions: Put all the ingredients in a stew pot and simmer over low heat for 3 hours. Season and drink the soup and eat the meat.
