【Original Plant Form of Dieda Lao】

Dieda Lao is a shrub or small tree, 2-5m in height. The twigs are densely covered with long and hard yellow hairs, but they soon fall off. The leaves are leathery, with 4-5 whorls; lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, 10-22cm long, 2-6cm wide;

the apex is pointed, the base is blunt or nearly circular, the upper surface is hairless, only the midrib is initially covered with short and soft hairs, the lower surface is pale gray or yellow-brown, and covered with yellow soft hairs; the petiole is 2-6mm long, densely covered with long soft hairs.

The umbel inflorescence consists of 2-10 flowers and is densely clustered at the upper part of the twigs; the total pedicel is 1-2cm long, covered with yellow-brown soft hairs; the total involucre is 4-7, covered with gray-brown silk hairs, each involucre contains 7-8 flowers; the calyx has 4 lanceolate petals;

there are 9 stamens, the filaments are long and protruding, with long soft hairs. The fruit of Dieda Lao is ovoid, about 1cm long, with a pointed tip. It flowers from April to November and fruits from November to January of the following year.
