Characteristics of "Sui Gu Zi"
1. Dried rhizomes and tuberous roots. The rhizomes are cylindrical, with connected segments. The upper part retains some stems and leaves, and the surface is rough, brownish-gray or brownish-black, with numerous tuberous roots clustered around.
2. Intact tuberous roots are spindle-shaped, 1-3cm long, 2-5mm in diameter, yellowish-white to pale yellow on the surface, fleshy, with irregular wrinkles, and a pale yellowish-white cross-section when broken.
Consumption of "Sui Gu Zi"
"Sui Gu Zi" can be used in two ways, externally and internally.
Externally, it is usually crushed and applied to wounds to stop bleeding, eliminate stasis, and reduce swelling. Internally, it is used for its diuretic and heat-clearing properties.
