Kidney Inflammation Herb, is the whole plant of the Asteraceae plant called Artemisia capillaris, an annual herb. It is harvested in summer and autumn, and then cut into sections and dried. Kidney Inflammation Herb has the functions of clearing heat, promoting diuresis, relieving cough, and detoxifying. It is mainly used for acute and chronic kidney inflammation, cystitis, bronchitis, dysentery, and wounds caused by knives or guns.
Morphology: Artemisia capillaris is an annual herb, 50-80cm tall. It has basal leaves that are inverted ovate, 6-10cm long and 2-4cm wide, with serrated edges. The base of the leaves extends downward, and both sides are covered with grayish-yellow hairs. The inflorescence is arranged in spikes, with 3-4 tubular bisexual flowers; the involucre is cylindrical, with hard and very unequal bracts; the receptacle is bald. The achene has ridges, and the seed has wing-like pappus.
