Medicinal Uses of Guanmutong

1. Used to treat bladder heat and dampness, short and red urine, and painful urination: Guanmutong is combined with Cheqianzi (Plantago asiatica) and Huashi (Talcum), such as Bazheng San (Eight Correcting Powder) (from "Formulary of Chinese Herbal Medicine").

2. Used to treat inflammation of the heart fire, mouth ulcers, or restlessness and red urine caused by the descending of heart fire to the small intestine: Guanmutong is combined with Shengdi Huang (Rehmannia glutinosa), Gancao (Glycyrrhiza uralensis), and Zhuye (Lophatherum gracile), such as Daochi San (Direct Reducing Powder) (from "Prescriptions for Pediatric Diseases").
