【Boiling Eggs with Baogaicao to Treat Lymph Node Tuberculosis】

Baogaicao 2-3 liang, eggs 2-3. Boil them together, remove the eggshells after the eggs are cooked, continue boiling for half an hour, and consume the eggs and soup.

Baogaicao is mainly used to dispel wind, invigorate collaterals, reduce swelling, and relieve pain. It is used to treat bone and muscle pain, numbness of limbs, sprains, and scrofula.

【Morphology of Baogaicao】

Baogaicao is an annual upright herb. The stem is weak, square, and often purple, with sparse downward-growing hairs, 10-60 cm tall. The leaves are kidney-shaped or round, with a heart-shaped or round base, with rounded teeth and small lobes on the edges, and hairs on both sides; leaves at the base have petioles, while stem leaves lack petioles and clasp the stem at the base.

The flowers are arranged in clusters, with 2 to several flowers, sessile, axillary, without bracts; the calyx is tubular, 5-6 mm long, with 5 teeth, covered with long fine hairs on the outside and around the teeth; the corolla is purple-red, 9-17 mm long, covered with hairs on the outside, with a slender tube, no hair ring at the base, the throat expands, the upper lip is erect, elongated and helmet-shaped, and the lower lip is 3-lobed, with the middle lobe fan-shaped and deeply concave at the tip, and the lateral lobes are broadly triangular; there are 4 stamens, 2 long and strong, with reddish anthers; the style is 2-lobed and needle-shaped.

The small nut is elongated with 3 edges, truncated at the top, dark brown, with white scales-like projections. The flowering period is from March to April, and the fruiting period is in June.
