Derived from the whole plant of the chrysanthemum family plant Yang Er Ju. Can be harvested all year round.
Growth characteristics of White Ox Gall:
Original form of deciduous shrub. It can grow up to over 1 meter tall, erect, with thick branches covered in fine hairs. Leaves are opposite, narrowly rectangular to nearly inverted-egg-shaped, 7-10 centimeters long, gradually tapering to a blunt tip, with small sawtooth edges, rounded to broadly wedge-shaped at the base, green on the upper surface with glandular dots, covered in coarse hairs, white on the lower surface, densely covered in silky or fine hairs. Inflorescences are terminal or axillary near the apex, forming dense umbel-like clusters; involucral bracts are rectangular to broadly lanceolate, 3-7 millimeters long, 1 millimeter wide, covered in short hairs, membranous at the edges and curling after maturity; receptacles are bare and pitted; ligulate flowers are 3-lobed at the front, tubular flowers are 5-lobed, yellow; stamens are 5, with arrow-shaped anthers and long tails; ovaries are inferior, with 1 chamber, and 2-lobed stigmas. Fruits are about 1.5 millimeters long, covered in silky hairs; corona hairs are white with a light yellow tint. Flowering period is from July to August. Fruiting period is from November to December.
Habitat of White Ox Gall:
Grows in grassy areas on barren hills, hillsides below the mountains, or in shrubs. Distributed in Jiangxi, Fujian, Hunan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong, and Hainan.
Pharmacological effects of White Ox Gall:
Mouse intraperitoneal injection of decoction has antitussive effects (ammonia aerosol method), but no expectorant effects (guinea pig histamine aerosol method) or bronchodilator effects (guinea pig tissue histamine aerosol method).

Main functions and indications of White Ox Gall:
Dispels wind and dispels cold; Promotes Qi circulation and eliminates dampness; Detoxifies and reduces swelling. Used for wind-cold colds; coughs; rheumatic pain; diarrhea; hepatitis; mastitis; hemorrhoids; eczema; scabies
Dosage: Internal use:
Decoction, 15-30g. External use: Appropriate amount, pounded and applied; or decoction for washing.
Precautions: Avoid consuming sour and spicy foods during medication.
Clinical application of White Ox Gall:
Clinical application for early schistosomiasis: Take 1 liang each of Yang Bai Zhi (whole plant) and Cang Er Cao (whole plant without fruits and leaves), decoct and take 1 dose daily. One month is considered one course of treatment. 28 cases of early schistosomiasis were treated, and immediate effectiveness was observed after treatment. Results showed that 9 cases converted to negative after 3 stool examinations. Mild dizziness is generally experienced after taking the medicine, lasting for a few hours and disappearing on its own without treatment.
