Yuanhua, Daji, Gansui, Jujube
【Dosage】
Yuanhua 1.5g, Daji 1.5g, Gansui 1.5g, Jujube 10 pieces
【Usage】
Yuanhua (stewed), Gansui, Daji, equal parts. Grind each separately. Boil 1.5 liters of water, first cook 10 plump jujubes, take out 8 liang, remove impurities, and mix with the powdered medicine. Strong individuals take one spoonful, weak individuals take half a spoonful, and take it warm in the morning. If there is still some illness after the first dose, take it again the next day with an additional half spoonful. Once the diarrhea is relieved, switch to a rice gruel diet.
【Precautions for Using Gansui】
Due to the strong medicinal properties of Gansui, it is important not to self-medicate. It is best to use it under the guidance of a doctor for safety. The side effects and precautions for using Gansui are mainly as follows:
1. Pregnant women should avoid using it. Generally, medication should be stopped once the illness improves;
2. It is recommended to use processed Gansui or Gansui processed with vinegar to reduce its side effects such as vomiting. After being processed with vinegar, it can reduce the toxic and irritating effects of Gansui. Both raw Gansui and processed Gansui have strong toxic and laxative effects and should not be used;
3. Traditional experience suggests not combining Gansui with Gancao (licorice), but preliminary experimental results in modern times are inconsistent.
