  Zhu Ye Shen is the root and rhizome of the lily family plant Guangdong Wanshou Bamboo. It is harvested in summer and autumn, also known as mountain bamboo flower, bamboo node grass, jade bamboo grass, and bamboo leaf grass. It has the effects of clearing heat and dampness, relaxing tendons, and promoting blood circulation. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is commonly used to treat bruises and injuries, among other conditions.

  [Effects and Functions of Zhu Ye Shen]

  Zhu Ye Shen has the effects of clearing heat and dampness, relaxing tendons, promoting blood circulation, and resolving phlegm and stopping cough. It is used for rheumatism, joint and lower back pain, bruises and injuries, fractures, deficiency and fatigue, bone steaming and hot flashes, pulmonary tuberculosis with hemoptysis, lung heat cough, and burns.

  1. "Jiangxi Herbal Medicine": "Dispels wind and heat, relaxes tendons, and promotes blood circulation."

  2. "Shaanxi Herbal Medicine": "Nourishes yin and supplements deficiency, dispels wind and dampness, activates collaterals, and alleviates pain. It is used for deficiency and fatigue, bone steaming and hot flashes, pulmonary tuberculosis, palpitations and shortness of breath, and rheumatic lower back and leg pain. It is also used for sciatica."

  3. "Yunnan Herbal Medicine": "Promotes bone healing and stops bleeding, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic. Dispels wind and removes dampness."

  Pharmacological studies have shown that the extract of Zhu Ye Shen has a significant cardiotonic effect. Compared with digoxin and digitoxin, its bradycardic effect is more pronounced.

  Zhu Ye Shen has a bitter and sweet taste and a cold nature. In addition to treating deficiency and fatigue, and cough due to pulmonary tuberculosis, it is also commonly used by Yi medicine to treat dysmenorrhea, rheumatic diseases, bruises and injuries, and pain after bone fracture reduction.

  Heart and Spleen Nourishing Recipe

  Ingredients: Huixincao, Jixinyang, Zhu Ye Shen, Heshouwu, Qianzhenwanxiancao, Huangcao, Budonggen, appropriate amount, fresh ginger as a guide, 1 chicken.

  Method: Clean Huixincao, Jixinyang, Zhu Ye Shen, and Qianzhenwanxiancao. Wash and cut Heshouwu and Huangcao into pieces.

  Slaughter and clean the chicken, drain and cut into pieces. Cook Heshouwu, Huangcao, and chicken together. Remove the scum after boiling, add the remaining ingredients after 30 minutes of cooking, and cook until the chicken is cooked through. Add salt to taste before consumption.

  Effects: Nourishes the heart and spleen, calms the mind, and stabilizes the heart.

  Usage: Internal use, decoction, 9-15 grams; or powdered; or soaked in alcohol. External use, appropriate amount, crushed fresh product applied topically; or boiled into an ointment for external application.

  1. Treatment of postpartum deficiency: 20-30 grams of Zhu Ye Shen, stewed with chicken for consumption.

  2. Treatment of dysmenorrhea: 20 grams of Zhu Ye Shen, 10 grams of Lianxiancao, decocted and consumed.

  3. Treatment of deficiency and fever, pulmonary tuberculosis with cough: 20 grams of Zhu Ye Shen, decocted and consumed, or used in a formula.

  4. Treatment of bruises and injuries, pain after bone fracture reduction: Zhu Ye Shen, soaked in alcohol for consumption.

  5. Treatment of rheumatic lower back and leg pain: 50 grams of Zhu Ye Shen, soaked in alcohol for consumption.

  6. Treatment of deficiency and fatigue, bone steaming and hot flashes: 60 grams of Zhu Ye Shen, 30 grams each of Taibai Yangshen, Huangjing, and Xixin, stewed with pork for consumption.

  7. Treatment of high fever in children: Zhu Ye Shen, powdered. Take 3 grams each time, twice daily, and swallow with cold water.
