  The leaves of Frost Red are arranged opposite each other, with leaf stalks that are 6-8mm long. The leaf blades are membranous, elliptical, obovate, or obovate-elliptical in shape, measuring 2-9cm in length and 1-4cm in width.

The corolla has a diameter of 4.5-5mm and elongated oval petals that are slightly fused at the base. The stamens are slightly shorter than the corolla. The female flowers are 4-5 in number, with flower stalks that are 2-3mm long. The calyx is similar to the male flowers, and the corolla has a diameter of 4.5mm, with oval petals. The ovary is oval in shape, and the stigma is disc-shaped.

  The fruit of Frost Red is spherical, with a diameter of about 5mm, and is red in color. It has 4-5 rarely 1 oblong-shaped drupelets, with a smooth back and a leathery inner pericarp. The flowering period is from August to September, and the fruiting period is in October.
