[Danggui for Women's Health: Recipes for Menstrual Issues]

Danggui can be said to exist for female friends! It is used in many traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions to solve problems such as dysmenorrhea, light menstrual flow, and delayed menstruation.

[Danggui Lamb and Ginger Soup]

Effectiveness: This recipe is for two servings, so ingredients should be halved for one person. It is suitable for dysmenorrhea caused by deficiency of qi and blood, with symptoms such as cold and painful abdomen during menstruation or postpartum abdominal pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, scanty menstrual flow, fatigue, pale tongue coating, and weak pulse.

Usage: Take once a day, 5-7 days before menstruation.

Ingredients: 200g lamb, 20g danggui, 20g ginger, salt to taste.

Instructions:

1) Prepare the necessary ingredients.

2) Wash the lamb and cut it into small pieces. Slice the danggui and ginger.

3) Place the lamb in a stewing pot.

4) Add ginger and danggui slices.

5) Add 1 rice bowl of water (a regular rice bowl can be used).

6) Cover the pot and place it in an electric stewing pot.

7) Stew for two hours.

8) After stewing, remove and add a little salt for seasoning (optional).

9) Mix well and serve.

[Danggui and Huangqi Tea]

Effectiveness: It nourishes blood, promotes blood circulation, and regulates menstruation. It is used for irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, and amenorrhea caused by blood deficiency or blood deficiency combined with stasis.

Usage: Drink 2-3 times a week, and your blood and qi will definitely improve. When blood and qi improve, the spots on your face will fade.

Ingredients: 15g danggui, 30g huangqi, 15g red dates, brown sugar to taste.

Instructions:

1) Prepare all the ingredients.

2) Wash the red dates and remove the pits.

3) Rinse the huangqi with clean water.

4) Wash the danggui and cut it into slices.

5) Put the processed red dates, huangqi, and danggui into a pot.

Usage: Drink 1-2 times a week.

Ingredients: 15g danggui, 100g eggs, 30g brown sugar.

Instructions:

1) Prepare all the ingredients.

2) Soak the danggui in water for 10 minutes, then gently brush it clean with a toothbrush.

3) Slice the danggui.

4) Put the sliced danggui into a pot, add an appropriate amount of water, and simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes.

5) Put the eggs in the pot, add enough cold water to cover the eggs, and boil over medium heat until cooked.

6) Remove the eggs, soak them in cold water for a while, peel off the shells, and prick the surface of the egg white with a fork.

7) Put the peeled eggs into the danggui water, increase the heat, bring to a boil, then simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes.

8) Add brown sugar and cook until dissolved.

9) Let it cool to warm temperature before consuming.

[Red Date and Danggui Stewed Pork Ribs]

Effectiveness: It nourishes blood, beautifies the skin, and promotes qi and blood circulation.

Usage: One week after menstruation.

Ingredients: 200g pork ribs, 10 red dates, 5g danggui, 5g wolfberries, salt to taste.

Instructions:

1) Wash the pork ribs and place them in a stewing pot.

2) Wash the wolfberries, red dates, and danggui.

3) Cut a slit on both sides of the red dates.

4) Put the red dates, danggui, and wolfberries into the stewing pot, and add an appropriate amount of water. Place the pot in a larger pot filled with water, cover the pot, and simmer over low heat for 1.5 hours.

5) After stewing, add salt to taste.

[Danggui and Huangqi Stewed Lean Meat]

Effectiveness: Danggui and red dates nourish blood, and huangqi supplements qi. The combination of the two can nourish qi and blood, making it especially suitable for women.

Usage: Best to consume before and after menstruation.

Ingredients: 150g lean pork, 12g danggui, 5 red dates, 10g huangqi, salt to taste, a slice of ginger.

Instructions:

1) Cut the lean pork into appropriate pieces and slice the ginger.

2) Blanch the lean pork and ginger in boiling water to remove blood.

3) Rinse with clean water and place in a stewing pot.

4) Rinse the danggui with clean water and set aside.

5) Wash the red dates and remove the pits.

6) Rinse the huangqi with clean water.

7) Put the prepared danggui, red dates, and huangqi into the stewing pot.

8) Pour in about 80% of boiling water. Follow the instructions of the electric stewing pot and add water accordingly. Cover the pot.

9) Stew for about 2.5-3 hours, add a little salt or skip the salt before consuming!
